Paul’s Pals was founded in 1996 in honor of Paul Adelman, who with humor and persistence lived above disabilities stemming from three brain surgeries over seven years. In the process, his parents Floyd and Andrea discovered wonderful organizations such as Courage Center, Miracle League, and a Boy Scout’s troop, that helped their son enjoy life more fully.
Paul’s Pals enable disabled children to participate in activities that they might not normally be able to do by funding projects like wheel-friendly surfaces for baseball and zip-lines with supportive seats. The Paul Adelman Golf Classic raises funds for deserving accessibility projects. Over the past two decades, the popular annual event has become a Top Ten Charity Golf Tournament by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, raising a total of $1.4 million for 106 grants to 36 unique organizations.
