-Where can I find it? – Hulu, In Theaters

-6 Oscar nominations – Picture, Director (Chloe Zhao), Actress (Frances McDormand), Adapted Screenplay, Editing, Cinematography. 4 of the nominations are for Chloe Zhao

-Nomadland has been the talk of award season winning Best Picture and Director at the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes.

-Could win: Picture, Director, Cinematography

-Where can I find it? – Netflix

-5 Oscar nominations – Actress (Viola Davis), Actor (Chadwick Boseman), Costume Design, Production Design, MakeUp & Hairstyling

-Could win: Best Actor for Chadwick Boseman. I would be SHOCKED if he didn’t receive a posthumous Oscar for his staggering performance. Viola Davis gained huge momentum for Best Actress after winning the SAG Award in this category. There is a lot of crossovers with SAG voters who are also members of the Academy’s acting branch. I could also see it winning for MakeUp & Hairstyling

-Where can I find it? – OnDemand, In Theaters

-6 Oscar nominations – Picture, Director (Lee Isaac Chung), Actor (Steven Yeun), Supporting Actress (Yuh-Jung Youn), Best Original Screenplay, Score

-Don’t count out Minari as a strong contender. We may see a late season surprise, much like we saw with Parasite last year. It’s a beautiful story of an Asian-American family working toward the American dream.

-Could win: Best Supporting Actress for Yuh-Jung Youn as she took home the award at the SAG Awards.

-Where can I find it? – In theaters

-6 Oscar nominations – Picture, Supporting Actor (Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield), Original Screenplay, Best Song, Cinematography
-Could win: Daniel Kaluuya has already won the Critics Choice, SAG, and Golden Globe for his performance as Fred Hampton.

-It’s an important story as the true story and legacy of the Black Panther part is often misrepresented. You can make so many parallels to today’s fight for equality.

-Where can I find it? – OnDemand, BluRay/DVD

-5 Oscar nominations – Picture, Director (Emerald Fennell), Actress (Carey Mulligan), Original Screenplay, Ediiting

-Director Emerald Fennell is one of two women nominated for Best Director. She also received nominations for her screenplay and for producing the film

-Could Win: Carey Mulligan for Best Actress as she won the Critics Choice Association award. She has stiff competition as Andra Day and Viola Davis have won this category at other award ceremonies. Fennell has a strong shot at Original Screenplay as well.
