Minnesota Connections Academy is an online public school. There are more than two thousand students enrolled across the state of Minnesota. About half of those students come from the cities. The program started in 2005 with just eight students.
Many families involved in the program say they love it because of the flexibility. They also like that the curriculum is high quality. Tricia Clover’s twelve year old daughter Carley attends Minnesota Connections Academy. She was worried about how the change to an online school would affect Carley’s grades and education. Tricia says she’s more than happy with how the school has helped her daughter and the education has been top notch.
Despite being online, students can still interact with other students and their teachers. In fact, teachers are available during a normal business day to chat with students. There are also several after school programs and activities for students to get involved in. Principal Melissa Gould says she has never been more impressed with a school. She loves how it has helped all sorts of families find a perfect fit for their student.
