For more than 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been dedicated to fighting every cancer in every community. They are the largest community-based, voluntary health organization in the world, with nearly 2.5 million volunteers in more than 6,000 communities around the globe supporting their cause of saving more lives from cancer.

To fulfill their mission of eliminating cancer as a major health problem and diminishing suffering from all cancers, the American Cancer Society’s work covers the entire spectrum of the cancer fight. From research to education, prevention to diagnosis, and treatment to recovery, the Society is here to help everyone impacted by cancer.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. Each event is a noncompetitive 3 to 5 mile walk that brings people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer. The events raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
