Minnesota Explorer Ann Bancroft

On May 1st, 1986, Minnesota explorer Ann Bancroft made history when she became the first woman in history to journey via dogsled to the North Pole. She followed that journey up with crossing Greenland and journeying to the South Pole. In 2001, she and fellow explorer Liv Arnesen crossed Antarctica on skis, becoming the first women in history to accomplish that 1700 mile journey. Their adventures are documented in the book “No Horizon Is So Far”, which has a brand new edition for 2019. She paid a visit to our studio to talk all about it. She has also continued her work with the Ann Bancroft Foundation, dedicated to helping young women achieve their dreams.
