On Tuesdays, Twin Cities Live introduces you to a school aged child here in Minnesota in need of an adopting family. Over the last 3 and a half years, our Kid Connection series has helped place and adopt more than 30 children. And because each child’s story is different, new adoptive parents will need help giving a child with often a traumatic past, a new beginning. It’s why MN Adopt has special programs in place. Hannah Burton, MN Adopts Post Adoption Navigator, stopped by to explain what’s available to adoptive parents.
MN ADOPT is the only non-placing agency in the state of Minnesota that provides programs and services to fully support adoptive, kinship and foster families and their children.
HELP Specialist services are free and available to any Minnesota family who adopted a child who was under state or tribal guardianship; internationally; or through private domestic infant adoption, kinship adoption or guardianship; and foster care families.
Post-Adoption Navigators provide easily accessible, reliable phone-based support that is FREE to any Minnesota family who recently adopted a child who was under State or Tribal Guardianship, as well as Kinship Adoption families. If your family does not meet this description please contact us so we can connect you to our HELP Specialist Program.
The MN ADOPT Education Program promotes the importance of ongoing learning through a variety of in-person and online-based educational offerings focused on topics specific to parenting through adoption, foster care, or kinship caregiver.
