“Wild Morning” is a book about women. These women are in their own truths. They are honest, open and forthright about fear, hopes and joy. Dave Puente is the photographer behind “Wild Morning”. He was intrigued by the idea of shooting women in their early morning routine, just as they woke up and started their day. Brittany Chaffee is the writer. She took words from each woman and then put them into poetry. Together, they speak volumes.
The project was inspired by a quote from Prince during an interview for “Rolling Stone” Magazine in 2014.
“I learn from women a lot quicker than I do from men…At a certain point, you’re supposed to know what it means to be a man, but now what do you know about what it means to be a woman? Do you know how to listen? Most men don’t know how to listen.”
There are thirty five women featured, including Twin Cities Live reporter Emily Engberg.
“Wild Morning” is in select stores. Golden Rule, Magers and Quinn, PARC Boutique and online at www.wildmorning.com.
