Twin Cities Live reporter had the chance to sit down with Steve Carell and Director Robert Zemeckis in Chicago about their new movie, “Welcome to Marwen.”
The film, based on a true story, follows the life of artist Mark Hogancamp, an artists that is brutally attacked and left for dead. He survives, but loses his memories and even his ability to draw. But Marwen, a town Mark has built, becomes a place of healing and celebrating the people in his life that have helped in through recovery.
Steve told Kelli it’s the first time he’s actually reached out to a director to work on a film. The three chat about the story behind the film, the life-like dolls that had their own handler and of course what movies they’ll be watching this holiday season.
“Welcome to Marwen” opens Friday, December 21st.
