Grand Old Day is back on Sunday, May 3rd. The celebration marks the forty fifth year. This year, Twin Cities Live is a media sponsor. Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter will be the Grand Marshall of the parade. Steve and Elizabeth will be the Media Grand Marshalls. After the parade is done, Steve and Elizabeth will be hanging out at Golden Fig handing out TCL swag bags.
The fun takes place all along Grand Avenue which is home to hundreds of businesses, many of which are locally owned and have been around for decades. One hundred fifty vendors will be on hand to sell food, crafts and other items.
This year, F1RST Wrestling will be at Grand Old Day from 11 to 4 p.m. in the US Bank Lot. It will feature twenty five wrestlers in action with a lot of personality.
If you like cars, there’s something perfect for you. The Cops n Rodders Classic Car Show benefits the Saint Paul Police Department’s K-9 unit. It will be at the Kinderberry Hill Family Fun District and will have all sorts of activities for the kids and big kids. That includes face painting, pony rides, dance and craft.
Emily Engberg got an early taste at the newest treat for Grand Old Day. Pearson’s Candy and Grand Ole Creamery have come up with the “Grand Ole Salted Nut Roll Ice Cream”. Emily says it’s worth every bite.
There are plenty of spots to listen to live music. Boogie Wonderland is a fan favorite and is back again. They will be featured on the stage by Walgreens.
There are so many other things to see, to try and to buy. Grand Old Day is free to attend. For a complete list of all the Grand Old Day fun and to learn more about purchasing a wristband for beer, click here.
