Thanksgiving Ideas with Parker’s Plate

Registered Dietitian Amy Goodson shared a few twists on traditional Thanksgiving recipes. She recommends adding pomegranate juice to your turkey brine. Her recommended brand is POM Wonderful. For a link to the recipe, click here. Studies have found that pomegranate juice has more anti-oxidants than red wine, grape juice or green tea.

She also shared a recipe for Cornbread and Pistachio Stuffing. The recipe is from Epicurious and includes Wonderful Pistachios. A serving of pistachios provides 6 grams of plant-based protein and 3 grams of fibers. Wonderful Pistachios comes shelled or un-shelled.

And for dessert, she recommends a Pumpkin Spice Coffee Cake. This recipe is from Swerve. She recommends using Brown Swerve as an alternative to brown sugar. It tastes, looks and smells like brown sugar without the extra calories and is a 1-to-1 substitute in recipes.
