El Burrito Mercado in Saint Paul is holding a special Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, event on November 2nd. Dia De Los Muertos honors loved ones that have passed. It’s a great way to celebrate their life with food, music, and crafts.
El Burrito Mercado celebrates the Mexican tradition with an evening of fun. The festivities run from 6 to 8 p.m. Milissa Silva-Diaz says it’s a special way of paying tribute to those who mean the most to you. Milissa shows reporter Emily Engberg how to make an alter that honors a specific person. It has key pieces that represent certain things. For example, water is for thirst. Tissue paper is used for wind. A candle is for fire. You can also leave out their favorite food.
