Jackfruit Recipes

TCL regular and restaurant owner, Eli Wollenzien, shared some tasty jackfruit recipes.

Memphis BBQ Sauce

4 oz butter
1 each yellow onion
1 cup tequila
2 cup honey
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 cup chicken stock
1/2 tsp sriracha
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp kosher salt

BBQ’d Jackfruit

2 Cans Young Green Jackfruit
2 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Garlic
1 cup Yellow Onion
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
1 Cup Memphos BBQ Sauce


1. Drain, rinse, and fully dry jackfruit
2. Melt butter over medium heat in a sauté pan.
3. Add onions and garlic; cook until onions are soft.
4. Add jackfruit, smoked paprika, and salt.
5. Sauté mixture until jackfruit are heated through.
6. Add Memphis BBQ sauce to the pan and bring to a simmer.
7. While simmering, pull apart jackfruit using two forks until it is shredded into pieces. Continue to heat until jackfruit is hot. Serve.
