Bebe Zito Ice Cream is celebrating their stores opening’s one year anniversary. To help them celebrate, Ben and Gabby Spangler are bringing back one of their favorite flavors called Pipoca. It’s a popcorn flavored ice cream garnished with caramel popcorn. Ben shows us how they make the garnish.
1 oz popped popcorn (picked off of small crumbs and seeds)
3 oz brown sugar
2 oz butter
1 oz corn syrup
To taste salt
To taste vanilla
¼ teaspoon baking soda
Cook all ingredients (except baking soda) until thickened, just slightly starts to get a dark brown almost burnt color but without burning. Then add baking soda at the end. Fold into slightly warm popcorn.
