Susie made this classic on the show in June of 2014. The recipe got tons of clicks on our website so we decided to bring it back again!
1 large chicken
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
Set aside 1 cup whole milk in another bowl
- Cut up your chicken, rinse and pat dry with a paper towel. Starting with the dry flour mixture, dip one piece in bowl and coat evenly. Dip that piece in the milk and coat evenly repeat this three times, starting with the dry ingredients and ending with the dry.
- Heat your skillets until it starts bubbling. You will need two for one large chicken with a good amount of good vegetable oil. Place one piece at a time so they aren’t touching.
- Once all the pieces are all in and bubbling nicely, turn your heat down so it’s still a slow bubble. The trick is to slow cook and turn only once or twice. One large chicken will take about an hour and a half.
