It’s “Hog Wild” week with the Minnesota Pork Board! Executive Chef, Peter Christenson from Dellwood Country Club, has a Candied Bacon recipe that will go perfect in your next BLT!
Recipe:
10-12 pieces Thick Cut Bacon
1 cup Brown sugar
¼ cup Plump Chef Blackening Seasoning
Mix brown sugar and Plump Chef Blackening Seasoning. Coat bacon with sugar mixture, place on sheet pan with metal rack. Cook at 350 degrees until golden brown and beginning to crisp 15-18 minutes.
Candied Bacon BLT
Ingredients:
Candied BLT
Brioche loaf bread
Heirloom tomatoes
Avocado
Basil Aioli
Leaf lettuce
Basil Aioli recipe
Mayonnaise
Chopped basil
Kosher salt
Fresh lemon juice
½ tsp grated lime zest
Mix all ingredients.
Can be prepared up to 2 days in advance.
Spring Nectarine Salad with Candied Bacon
Ingredients:
Mixed Greens
Candied Bacon
Shaved red onion
Nectarine
Cilantro
White Balsamic Vinaigrette
Goat cheese crumbles
Directions:
Toss greens in white balsamic vinaigrette, top with shaved red onion, Nectarine wedges, Cilantro, Goat cheese crumbles and warm candied bacon.
