If you’re spending more time in the kitchen baking, you might want to try Nancy Burgeson’s recipe for French Silk Pie out.
1 baked and cooled pie shell (use your own recipe or use a prepared store-bought crust)
½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
¾ cup granulated sugar (use fine sugar or regular sugar and process in food processor)
¼ cup good quality baking chocolate (melted and cooled)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Whipping cream or Cool Whip
Prepare and cool pie crust.
Cream butter and sugar together. Blend in the melted chocolate and vanilla.
Add eggs 1 at a time, beating at medium mixer speed for 5 minutes each.
Pour into pie shell and chill for 4 hours or overnight.
Spread prepared whipping cream or Cool Whip over chilled pie and decorate with chocolate shavings.
