Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

Baking Instructor Nancy Burgeson shared a classic recipe for sour cream sugar cookies.

2/3 cup butter
1-1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice and the rind/peel of the lemon
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda


Sift together flour, ginger, baking powder and baking soda cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. add beaten eggs, sour cream, lemon juice and peel, mixing to blend
Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing well. roll out thick layer of dough on flour-covered board
Cut with your flavor cutter and decorate
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes
