If you’ve got a tween girl, maybe they’re already pushing your buttons a bit. But because they’re heading back to school, the topic of wearing makeup could come up. And that probably deserves a discussion. It’s why we’ve enlisted a professional makeup artist to help get the conversation started with products that won’t cost you a fortune. The founder of WarPaint International Beauty Agency, Jessica Mae, stopped by with beauty on a budget.
Jessica’s favorite drugstore brand is Lash Blast Volume from COVERGIRL. Jessica says mascara should be replaced every 3 months, so back to school is a great time to start fresh. And at $8.99 a tube, this mascara won’t break the bank.
It’s time to break out those fall shades and nothing makes a girl feel more confident than a new lipstick! Jessica’s favorite for this season is Stella from Elixery in Minneapolis. Elixery’s products are vegan, gluten free and super moisturizing.
3. BB Cream
Sub heavy foundation for a BB Cream. Jessica says if you’re someone who is looking for something that’s a little more quick and on the go she recommends a BB cream. BB creams also contain skin benefiting ingredients so it’s a prefect all in one product for an on the go teen. One of her favorites is from NYX Cosmetics. Another great inexpensive product at $13.
4. Purple Eyeshadow
Jessica says this hue will be right on trend this Fall. She’s loving the Ultimate Shadow Palette from NYX Cosmetics. You can make it as intense as you’d like but for a day time look, focus the plum color on the outside corner of the eye.
For this back to school season, Jessica is wearing Mauv’in Out from NYX Cosmetics. It’s a great price point at $6. Apply a little to the apples of your cheeks and you’re good to go.
