Travel Week: Shopping at MSP Airport

For the third year in a row, MSP International Airport was named the “Best Airport in North America” by Airports Council International.

All week, TCL’s Travel Week has featured what you will find once you’re past security. We’ve found a spot selected as the Best Airport Bar in America. Stone Arch is using Minnesota brews including house-made ketchup. We also found a hidden gem that just opened. The Cocktail Room at 18th & Central has craft cocktails on tap. But MSP has more than food and drink. It’s home to 35 new shops. Reporter Kelli Hanson takes us on a shopping spree.

MSP officials tell us they are already seeing a huge increase in Minnesotans parking at the airport for spring break. They believe they will absolutely run out of parking a few times in March. So if you are flying out of MSP soon, consider pre-booking a parking spot. On the MSP Airport’s website, you can select from multiple options and there’s a discount if you book your parking online. Pre-booked parking needs to be done at least 24 hours before you travel. One option that could save you the most money, parking at Terminal 2 and taking the light rail over to Terminal 1. Light rail service between the two terminals is free.
