Paul Mcguire Grimes, creator of Paul’s Trip to the Movies, has a pair of movies you don’t want to miss.
THE LION KING
The Lion King is latest Disney remake hitting the big screen. It marks their most ambitious and risky one to date but with a cast led by Donald Glover and Beyoncé, it soars to epic new heights. Many of us who grew up in the early 1990s know the story of little lion cub, Simba. His father, Mufasa, is the king of the Pride Lands and tells him that one day Simba rule will the land. Simba’s uncle, Scar, is not too happy with the news that he is not the heir to the throne and will stop at nothing to make sure he is the one in the end to rule the land.
Is It Worth Your Trip to the Movies? A visionary triumph filled me with that Disney magic all over again.

ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD
Writer/director Quentin Tarantino is back for his ninth film with a look back at Hollywood in 1969. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Rick Dalton, a television actor stuck making westerns and fears his career is going down the toilet if he doesn’t make big changes. Guiding him along the way is his stunt double Cliff, played by Brad Pitt. Rick happens to be the neighbor of Sharon Tate whose career is skyrocketing and is in a loving relationship with director Roman Polanski. The rise of the hippie movement, the followers of Charles Manson, and Rick’s own self-doubt start having their effect on Rick and Sharon as they navigate their careers.
Is It Worth Your Trip to the Movies? It may not be top-tier Tarantino, but I can sense that my appreciation for it will grow with time upon multiple viewings.
