Homemade Dog Treats

Owner of Golden Fig Fine Foods, Laurie Crowell, stopped by with recipes for homemade dog treats and information on the Paws on Grand event.

Peanut Butter Banana Freeze
4 ripe bananas
1/2 C creamy peanut butter
1/2 C plain yogurt
Coconut water to thin
Place bananas, peanut butter and yogurt in a blender. Turn on and drizzle in coconut water to thin out to still thick, but smooth.
Pour into silicone molds or a cup to freeze. Remove cup before putting in your pups dish.

Blueberry Bacon Doggie Doughnuts
1/4 C. Creamy peanut butter
1/4 C bacon drippings
1/3 C honey
1 egg
1 C. Whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 C. Blueberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spray doughnut pan (or muffin tins) with cooking spray.
Beat peanut butter, bacon drippings, honey and egg until combined.
In a small bowl, whisk together dry ingredients.
Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
Transfer mixture to ziploc bag, cut off end of bag amd pipe dough into molds.
Poke a few blueberries into each doughnut.
Bake 8-10 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Pumpkin Pup treats
2.5 C wheat flour
2 eggs
1/2 C pumpkin puree
3 TB creamy peanut butter
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Stir together all ingredients. Add a little coconut water if you need a little more moisture to make the dough come together. It should be relatively dry and stiff.
Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into smaller pieces (about and inch )
Bake about 40 minutes.
Let cool completely before serving or storing.
